Buffer and Standard Solutions

When using electrochemical meters and probes, it is important to calibrate the meter before use to ensure accurate results. Calibration involves resetting the meter using solutions of known values, giving the meter a set of values with which to compare the reading from the sample.

It is necessary to calibrate meters regularly to maintain the accuracy of the results.

pH and conductivity are the most common parameters analysed with this method however other parameter standards are available, including TDS, ORP and Surface Tension.
